Our Sugi siding and paneling is sawn from straight, high-grade Japanese logs that are graded for color and grain. Substitute on projects where North American cedar or cypress are specified. Suitable for exterior and interior applications, with or without a coating.

Unoiled Sugi cladding can be installed in clean interior applications or in exterior applications where a patina is desired–allowing it to weather naturally, in response to the local climate. This is a great natural wood option for owners who appreciate siding with a unique, ever-changing patina. Delivered ready to install.
Patina Scale: 10
The Patina Scale has been developed by Nakamoto Forestry to approximate how its products will weather over time—from 0 (“less patina/more color longevity”) to 10 (“less color longevity/more patina”). However, every product weathers at a different rate due to local conditions, and the Patina Scale is intended as general guidance only, and is solely for informational purposes. Nakamoto Forestry makes no guarantees, representations, or warranties, express or implied, regarding the appearance or color longevity of its products after installation.
CONSIDERATIONS
- Rich, clean, and beautiful material, with great color range.
- Alternate for many cedar or cypress specifications.
- Raw sugi has a distinctive, pleasing cedar aroma.
- Oil stain application and maintenance will dramatically increase siding longevity. Back brush surfaces for an even finish.

MAINTENANCE
This product is designed to be installed and enjoyed for a lifetime without an oil finish. Customers can add their own preferred coating to unoiled siding before installation or anytime after to add color or protection to the wood. SHIPPING DETAILS
Minimum order volume is 400 square feet for the order’s first line item. Standard lead time is 2-3 weeks PO to ship-ready, then add 1-2 weeks for shipping. Please order at least 5 weeks before needed at site, and note that lead time can go up if we are oversold on specific items.
