“Komorebi”—the Japanese expression for sunlight filtering through the trees—is a fitting name for this home. Expansive windows draw this filtered light into the living room, creating a seamless continuity between the exterior and interior. The interior accent wall by the window uses our Gendai® paneling in the Alkyd Oil Black finish, giving the room a gentle character as the light shifts throughout the day.
Thoughtfully designed, the home reflects the homeowner’s goals of generational longevity and minimal site impact. Materials and structural choices were made strategically, with the intention of extending the building’s lifespan while limiting maintenance over time. Our Suyaki® Tung Oil Black cladding on the exterior provides a durable solution for a lasting home that can be passed down for generations, while developing a beautiful patina as it ages.
