Pika-Pika®

Gurley Lake House

Norwood, CO

Nestled in a grove of tall ponderosa pines, this home glows like a hidden gem surrounded by the woods of Norwood, Colorado. The structure expresses an atmosphere of high-end camping; a vantage point tucked into the trees allowing you to feel as if the grand view of Wilson Peak, El Diente, and Lone Cone Mountain is entirely your own. The design celebrates its natural surroundings with quiet sophistication; the home was built with minimal changes to the environment, and the site was selected intentionally so that it didn’t require cutting down any trees. Architect Luke Trujillo aimed to capture the essence of living among the woods and being surrounded by natural beauty. The exterior is clad with a darker brown finish – our Pika-Pika® Alkyd Brown, allowing the house to blend in with its surroundings. Our blonde Pika-Pika® Unoiled product is used on the soffit extending to the interior, providing a sense of connection between the interior and the outdoors. Burnt grain emphasizing the natural wood pattern, each room’s atmosphere ties to the architect’s vision of harmony between architecture and landscape.
