Our Pika-Pika® Alkyd Black yakisugi was featured in Gardenista’s “Garden Pros Love a Black House. Here’s Why”. The finish was chosen by Workshop/APD for installation on the East Hampton Modern project.
As quoted in the post, Tyler Marshall, associate principal at Workshop/APD explains why our cladding was the ideal choice for the project: “This rich, dark exterior palette allows the home to recede into the tree line and its shadows in a way that a more traditional white Hamptons home would not.”
The project reflects an architectural approach we value deeply—one where material, light, and environment work together to create a building that feels grounded in its setting.
