Gendai®, Pika-Pika® Featured in Retrofit Magazine

Our Gendai® Linseed Black and Pika-Pika® Linseed Natural yakisugi were featured in Retrofit Magazine. The article focuses on a large scale renovation that sought to tie together a series of additions made to the original home, a modest cabin built in 1966. The use of our Gendai charred black siding and Pika-Pika natural finish accents unifies the previously confusing design of the house, while the “carbonized yakisugi surface provides a natural barrier against moisture, insects and UV degradation, ensuring long-term resilience with minimal maintenance” and will help it withstand the potentially harsh New England winters and vibrant summers.
